Getting Creative With Crown Molding

Although crown molding is often used to decorate the walls, cabinets and doorframes, getting creative with this luxurious touch can be a fantastic way to customize your home. Our Saratoga remodeling project, for example, used crown molding on their custom-built entertainment center. Where else can you use this decorative detail?

Crown Molding Creativity

Whether you are remodeling a room in your house or taking on a slightly bigger project, crown molding can really spruce up your home by adding a luxurious touch to your remodel quickly and easily. In addition to adding it to a custom entertainment center like our Saratoga remodeling project did, here are a few creative ways to use this fun design element:

  • Mix it up with fun colors. Pick a shade that’s different from the wall, but make sure it’s complementary so it fits with the overall design of the space.

  • Use it as a custom headboard or as a design element on the living room wall.

  • Double layer your crown molding to add drama and depth to the room.

  • Frame your windows with crown molding around the pane or as part of the sill. You can even add it to an arch around a window seat.
